Shine Project: 2D to 3D

2D to 3D
Pre-Production
SHiNE project is the third major school project we had to work on this year. The main goal of the project is to show your passion within the industry you want to work in, also to apply any feedback from the previous project and your portfolio.
The feedback I got came down to that I was missing 3D models. So I wanted to translate my 2D style to 3D. But I keep it relatively simple since i'm not expierenced and that comfortable making 3D models.
My goal was to create a figurine of Ari, the mascot I designed in an earlier project this year.

Production
First I started playing around in Blender, trying new things just experimenting.
I also followed part of the YouTube tutorial below.
Conclusion
Ultimately, I wish I was more familiar with Blender so I could create the perfect model—a straightforward yet dynamic figurine—that I had envisioned in my mind. Unfortunately, I was unable to achieve that. Early on I realised creating models of things that should be "alive" was hard enough in itself. I struggled a lot with the body alone.
I'm happy I decided to start this project.I've learned a lot and I can picture myself recreating illustrations in 3D in the future.
